The Department of Tamil was established in the year 2013 to offer the UG Course B.A. (Tamil ). The department was upgraded in 2017 to offer PG course M.A. (Tamil). The department also offers Part I – Tamil to all the UG courses. The faculty of the department are highly qualified and experienced academicians. Along with academic teaching, steps are taken to improve and tap the talents of students in all aspects to shape their future. Besides focusing on curriculum and research the department actively involves in other co-curricular and extra-curricular activities through its Tamil Literary Club. The department continuously conducts seminars, workshops and conferences to enrich the student's knowledge in Tamil literature. Students are constantly encouraged to compete in literary competitions, participate in tamil related programmes in media.
