Department of commerce is one of the pioneering departments at Government Arts and Science College, Kovilpatti. Recognizing the ever growing demand for commerce education and cater to the felt needs of the local area, Government has started the B.Com programme in the year 2013 with 64 students. The Department was elevated as a postgraduate department, M.Com programme was started in the year 2017 with 30 students. The department upholds the tradition of importing excellent education, provides stimulating environment for an overall development of the students. There is a blend of theoretical and practical exposure to the students through seminars, Guest lectures and industrial visits. Department also encourages students to participate in internal house competition, inter-collegiate technical and cultural events to explore their talents and skills.
