I am happy to welcome you to our Government Arts and Science College, Kovilpatti, website (www.gasckovilpatti.com). It was established in the year 2013 (Ms. Go. No: 98, Dt. 17.06.2013) with 5 UG Courses, along with 255 students, 15 faculty members and 17 Non-teaching staff. The college is affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. It takes pride of being the only Government Arts and science college located in Tuticorin District. This prestigious government educational institution aims at the upliftment of the socially, economically, underprivileged and downtrodden section of the society. Also it caters the educational needs of the first generation of the backward students from this part of the state. I affirm with satisfaction that this institution has a swift development in a short span of time to have 10 UG courses and 5 PG courses with 1290 students, 48 faculty members, 12 Guest lecturers, 15 PTA staff and 17 non-teaching staff.

     I am proud of the zeal and gusto of both the faculty and students generated in all that they do, which makes this college a fine place to learn. Earnestly speaking, this colossal growth both in terms of infrastructure (with another building with additional classrooms and staff rooms coming up) and academic performances has encouraged me send proposal for starting additional courses in the forthcoming academic year.
