Students have actively participated and won prizes in the intra- collegiate competitions and inter-collegiate competitions conducted by the nearby colleges. Students are also keen to extend their boundary of knowledge and technical skill by attending hands-on sessions, seminars and conferences in other colleges.

Computer Science Association constantly organizes activities which recognize and nurture the talents
of individual students and promotes coordinated teamwork among them.
In the academic year 2018-2019 a Python Workshop was organized for the students. Dr. Mercy Rani,
Assistant Professor, SRNM College enlightened the students with the intricacies of the new package.
Intradepartmental competitions like Paper Presentations, Software Debugging, Quiz etc. were
conducted for UG/PG students and prizes were distributed.
In 2019-2020 intradepartmental technical and non-technical competitions like Paper Presentation,
Software Debugging, Quiz, Arts from Waste, Fireless Cooking, Rangoli etc were conducted in which
students enthusiastically participated in large numbers. Dr. R. Selvavinayagam, Assistant Professor,
Raja Duraisingam College, Sivagangai graced the occasion and gave a lecture on Fundamental of
Programming Skills.
Though the pandemic period in 2020-2021 restricted face-to-face association activities online
activities were conducted to cater the educational needs of the students and to relax their minds
from the stressful situation. An E-Quiz on Computer Concepts was organized on 26th – 28th May 2020.
A large of number students participated in it and received E-Certificates. A webinar on the topic
“Research Issues in Digital Image Processing” was conducted on 05th June 2020. Dr. P.Shanthi,
Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology, VHNSN College(Autonomous), Virudhunagar
was the resource person who gave key points on DIP research issues.
The department constantly strives to expose students to blooming technologies, strengthen the
fundamental concepts, to inculcate creativity and innovation in programming.
